Their first Ride.

Tested & Loved

"Floats beautifully and has tons of energy. In open bowls or less dense tree lines, it’s a dream to ride."

In very steep, narrow, and heavy Pacific Northwest powder (~20+cm wet snow), I found the turn radius a bit long, and I struggled in tight tree lines. That said, I’m probably not a strong enough powder skier to get the most out of it in those conditions — it seems more geared toward expert powder seekers.
I haven’t tested it on piste yet, but based on others’ reviews, it sounds like it handles groomers and crud surprisingly well for a powder ski.

"All-mountain fun — holds an edge when needed but releases easily when you want it to."

Very stable even at high speeds, with good float in up to 10cm of powder. Great pop!
I had the edges detuned past contact points, which made the ski super versatile: crud, powder, and moguls were easy to handle. I could smear turns when I wanted and still carve extremely well. An excellent everyday ski with playful character and real versatility.

"Holds an edge and rails turns beautifully, yet still playful and rides switch well."

It can carve almost as well as my Salomon S/Race SL Pro, but I can still press, butter, and pop on the Simply Carver — so much fun for groomer sessions with some park mixed in.
I skied the 160cm (shorter than usual for me), which felt great for carving lower-angle slopes. It did get a little chattery at higher speeds, but that’s expected given the size. If you’re looking for a one-ski quiver for carving, I’d recommend going with your usual ski length.

"I tried the Recreation at the Engelberg Freeride Days. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience—great setup, amazing hospitality."

I tested the Recreation, a more all-mountain focused ski with tons of pop and playfulness. Overall, it’s a great ski for anyone who loves to pop, throw tricks in the sidecountry, and have fun on the slopes and in the park. I tested both the 180cm and the 190cm. The 190cm felt like the right choice—it offers more stability at speed, yet still feels quick thanks to the newschool mount.

"It does everything extremely well. I am surprised by how well they hold an edge, float incredibly in pow, and even ride park."

I was a bit nervous for this ski because I have ridden directional skis before and honestly disliked them. This ski is of course directional, (designated right and left foot) when I got on the ski I fell in love right away. I tend to be a versatile skier, I’ll ride all over the mountain from park, to groomers, chopped up snow, to big pow faces. The camber allows the ski to have exceptional pop off features and although some people wouldn’t consider a 100mm underfoot ski to be a pow ski, I can assure you that they float beautifully. The tails of the ski feel just slightly softer than the tips but for a playful skier this only works to your benefit. They really are an amazing ski for doing anything and everything on the mountain.

"Love the skis! They carve about as well as my race skis in variable terrain. Yet I can ride them switch with ease, and has a lot of pop on jumps and side hits, while also being fairly stable."

Also able to press nose or tail with ease. It is amazing that simply could create skis like this one. I come from a long snowboarding back ground, and have been looking for skis that gives me the freedom to carve / butter / freestyle like some of my favorite snowboards, and I think I've found the one. The asym cut really makes a difference in utilizing both edges in carving, yet unhooks very naturally and easily for slashes or short turns. For comparison, very similar to the season kins which I've rode for a few seasons, but even better at every aspect of turning as well as freestyle. Don't do rails so can't give any opinions on that.

"Thanks to the lightness and maneuverability of the ski, I can ride 100mm underfoot again with my old knees"

Simply the perfect all-terrain ski–smooth turns on groomed snow, and it gives a boost to old freestyle riders. I did my first 7.2 in 14 years!

"An ideal model for the piste, great for both big turns and short turns."

If you’re used to giant slalom or slalom skis, their lightness might be surprising at first, but you get used to it very quickly.

"It’s the perfect compromise for those who love both groomers and powder."

In the lineup, it’s the equivalent of my current pair (Faction Dictator), but lighter and more aggressive for drawing beautiful turns.

"A visually impressive first impression, with well-crafted and clean production... the ski is aesthetically pleasing! A premium and durable sole and edge quality!"

Once on the snow, the skis are forgiving and relatively easy to approach, both technically and physically. The flexible shovel that deforms well when flexed, and the very progressive tail immediately gives the playful character of the Recreation!

Underfoot, the stronger base returns a surprising and really fun pop, very playful in side hits.

On the piste, the ski carves short and "wraps" in an intuitive way, rather stable even when letting it go in big curves, a very healthy attitude. A real hybrid freecarve/freestyle compromise... easy peezy!

"A real pleasure to discover such unique skis: fishtail, nice width, but with a short turning radius!"

The specs are spot on for what I’m looking for as a 40-something new dad who wants to ski more laid-back—carve on piste when with the kids, but head off-piste when the conditions allow.
Slight preference for the Carver, which better suits my on-piste needs, with easier edge grip thanks to the narrower waist.
Simple, clean design that clearly stands out from the competition; a really great experience.

"Super light and playful."

Went well on piste, and held an edge super well. Fun in the air as well.
Although, I’d be nervous to ski quickly in chopped pow, maybe the fatter ones would be better and more stable.
