There is no perfect formula here. It pretty comes down to your style, what you want to ride and how you want to ride it. Click on the ski size of your choice on the right to show the corresponding height and weight ranges.

What we would recommend you based on your height and weight if you are in between two sizes – aim for the bigger size if you want stable skis. If you prefer super reactive skis, the smaller size would be better.

I was surprised how well they held up given the ski's flexibility. Even in slightly icier areas, they held up well, so cool.

In off-piste, very playful and stays easily on the surface! The 180 makes it maneuverable, but I found that it lacked length for skiing a bit faster and straighter! The flexibility allows for good shock absorption upon landing jumps.

A top ski however for my style of skiing, I would prefer it in 190.

Getting started with the Recreation came very naturally, skiing is instinctive. In a few meters of sliding, you feel that you are there to have fun.

The Ski is fun and playful. He likes to get out of the classic pattern which consists of chaining left turns and right turns, and so on. The slightest bump serves as an excuse to express a more alternative style of skiing.

The flex is homogeneous over its entire length with a little extra rigidity on the back of the ski. The torsional rigidity is there, you feel it when you push on its 15 meters fun-curve radius – the ski does not stall.

It does everything extremely well. I am surprised by how well they hold an edge, float incredibly in pow, and even ride park.

I was a bit nervous for this ski because I have ridden directional skis before and honestly disliked them. This ski is of course directional, (designated right and left foot) when I got on the ski I fell in love right away. I tend to be a versatile skier, I’ll ride all over the mountain from park, to groomers, chopped up snow, to big pow faces. The camber allows the ski to have exceptional pop off features and although some people wouldn’t consider a 100mm underfoot ski to be a pow ski, I can assure you that they float beautifully. The tails of the ski feel just slightly softer than the tips but for a playful skier this only works to your benefit. They really are an amazing ski for doing anything and everything on the mountain.

A visually impressive first impression, with well-crafted and clean production... the ski is aesthetically pleasing! A premium and durable sole and edge quality!

Once on the snow, the skis are forgiving and relatively easy to approach, both technically and physically. The flexible shovel that deforms well when flexed, and the very progressive tail immediately gives the playful character of the Recreation!

Underfoot, the stronger base returns a surprising and really fun pop, very playful in side hits.

On the piste, the ski carves short and "wraps" in an intuitive way, rather stable even when letting it go in big curves, a very healthy attitude. A real hybrid freecarve/freestyle compromise... easy peezy!

You directly feel in symbiosis with the Recreation. A descent and you are good to do what you want.

At the first sight, the shape is innovative and really surprising! I really like the fishtails and the asymmetrical shape. You directly feel in symbiosis with the Recreation. A descent and you are good to do what you want. I can carve similar to a slalom ski except you can be super creative on the side hits of the slopes thanks to its flex.

The slightly negative point for me is a little too much flex which somewhat makes it complicated on tracks with bumps with a lot of speed. The legs start kicking - but it's still very manageable. In the powder, it's really amazing how you come out of the snow with so little width under your boots. I really felt like floating and doing one with the line I choose.

In short, after 45 min I fell in love with the Recreation and hope to be able to acquire it one day. Thanks Laurent for the test and congratulations to the whole team for the job - it's insane!

FAQs

You can – and you should. It works perfectly not matter if you ride slopes or park. In deeper snow, it might become trickier if you don’t know what you’re doing. But this is the same no matter the skis.

We are selling POMOCA skins which are pre-cut based on the model purchased – but you can use your own as well. We recommend cutting your skins for ski touring to use their full potential and for security reasons as well. Before heading out, we recommend checking the tail and nose fixing to be sure it fits correctly.

The Recreation is a solid and stable ski, and light at the same time. It’s a perfect tool to go touring and ski some good stuff on the way down. Any touring bindings can be mounted. No worries about the fish tail, it has been adapted to mount skins too. Before heading out for a session, we suggest you to first try your setup at home as you might need cut your skins for optimal results.

We have marked the optimal mounting position directly on the skis. We highly and only recommend mounting your skis using these marks.

No concerns at all! Laurent and everyone else in the club have skied all season long and never have they faced any issues. We also added reinforcement on both parts of the fish tail so you can leave your skis on any surface and don’t have to worry.

We designed the ski to be playful & creative on every terrain you have the chance to ride it on. It’s exactly the goal of the Recreation: groomers, pow, touring, side hits, park – you can do it all. You simply can enjoy everything.
